Glamour Editor Jo Elvin takes her place as a judge on Great British Hairdresser this week,on E4s new reality show which aims to open the door to the hairdressing industry at its highest end.
Creating iconic hairstyles for the world's most famous faces represents the pinnacle of the hairdressing profession. With over a quarter of a million salon stylists in the UK, the show provides an opportunity to compete in a cut-throat competition to be crowned the Great British Hairdresser.
The 10-part series sees Jo and stylist to the stars James Brown, seek out the best hairdressing talent in Britain.
Ten finalists will be chosen to compete in a series of high profile assignments to test their cropping and cutting skills. The winner will get the chance to style the hair of a celebrity for the cover of Glamour, as well as working alongside James.
To pile on the pressure further, James and Jo invite their celebrity friends along to help. Watch out for Lily Allen, Dannii Minogue, Jaime Winstone, Sadie Frost and The Saturdays.
Jo said: "I am so excited that Glamour and I will be taking part in this, the most extensive search Britain's ever seen for a future star of hairdressing. The winner is going to have be someone brilliant - I'm really looking forward to putting the candidates to the test with superstar hairstylist James Brown."
Glamour is the UKs biggest selling monthly glossy, and Jo has been at the helm since the magazine’s launch in 2001.
Jo has won numerous awards for the magazine over the last decade, including 'Consumer Magazine of the Year' at the PPA Awards, Editor's 'Editor of the Year' and 'Women’s Magazine of the Year' at the BSME Awards. She also oversees the annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards, now established as one of the biggest events of the celebrity season.
