Comedian and host of the popular show 'Just a Minute', Nicholas Parsons, was one of the comedians to receive New Year Honours, alongside Ruth Jones, Sandi Toksvig and Penelope Keith.
Nicholas received his CBE at the age of 90 and stated 'I think it's a very nice honour- I'm flattered and delighted. I think honours are a wonderful thing to receive if you have worked hard and that is recognised. I don't understand these people who are pompous and say they don't want it.'
Nicholas' Radio 4 co-host Sandi Toksvig received an OBE and was 'honoured to be recognised' and also stated 'broadcasting is a team effort and I would like to pay tribute to all the writers, production and technical staff I've worked with over the years.'
Penelope Keith was made a Dame in the 2014 Honours List and Ruth Jones received her MBE, both were delighted with their honours.
