Peter Drobac

Dr Peter Drobac is a global health leader, educator, and social entrepreneur who helped transform Rwanda’s health system and now teaches and advises at Oxford and Harvard.

Dr Peter Drobac is a medic, global public health specialist, and social entrepreneur, dedicated to transforming health systems and inspiring the next generation of leaders. A Senior Fellow in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School and Reuben College, University of Oxford, he is the outgoing Executive Director of Oxford’s Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, one of the world’s leading academic hubs for social innovation.

With more than two decades of experience across academia, clinical practice, and policy, Peter played a pivotal role in transforming Rwanda’s health system, driving remarkable improvements in public health and prosperity. As Executive Director of Partners In Health in Rwanda, he established health system incubators that developed and scaled innovative care models for everything from infectious diseases to cancer. Alongside this, he served as a senior official in the Government of Rwanda, leading the implementation of key national health programmes.

Recognising Rwanda’s transformation as a model for the world, Peter co-founded the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) and became its inaugural Vice Chancellor. UGHE is shaping the next generation of global health leaders and positioning itself as an international hub for healthcare delivery innovation.

A passionate educator, Peter teaches global health and systems leadership at both Harvard and Oxford, sharing his expertise with students, clinicians, and executives. He is also a regular commentator on global health issues for major outlets including CNN and the BBC, bringing clarity and insight to some of the world’s most pressing health challenges.
