Jamie Woodruff

Jamie Woodruff is one of the world’s leading ethical hackers, known for exposing security flaws and helping organisations protect themselves through ethical hacking and cyber risk awareness.

Jamie Woodruff is one of the world’s leading ethical hackers and a globally recognised cyber security specialist, known for his captivating insights into how technology can be exploited – and how we can better protect ourselves from it.

A self-taught prodigy, Jamie began hacking at the age of nine and was working on research with Symantec by the time he was twelve. He shot to public attention while studying at Bangor University, when he famously hacked Facebook as part of a student competition – exposing vulnerabilities with precision, insight and a passion for improving security.

Since then, Jamie has become a trusted advisor to banks, security agencies and global corporations, working on the frontlines of cyber defence. As Technical Director at Metrix Cloud Ltd, he leads training and testing operations that help organisations understand their weaknesses before others do.

Jamie is also the Cyber Safety Advisor for the Cybersmile Foundation, supporting online safety and the fight against cyberbullying. His practical knowledge runs deep – from identifying flaws in high-profile platforms like YouTube, Apple and Google, to uncovering security risks on celebrity websites, including Kim Kardashian’s.

Known for his live demonstrations and gripping storytelling, Jamie's keynotes are as entertaining as they are eye-opening. Whether explaining the psychology behind social engineering or sharing how he accessed a secure server room disguised as a pizza delivery driver (with full authorisation, of course), Jamie’s sessions are memorable, impactful and often a little hair-raising.

He speaks to a wide range of audiences, from corporate leaders to students and tech professionals, making complex security issues accessible and real. Jamie’s mission is simple: to help others stay one step ahead in an ever-evolving digital world.
