8 Superb Science Speakers to Educate Your Team

Georgina Clarke 8 March 2023

Science is a very broad word that covers, what seems like, a million smaller subject matters; all of which are vital fields to be investing in. It’s important to ensure that all of the generations, young and old, are well-informed on scientific discoveries and the general wider science world; as they impact how everyone lives their lives.

In an effort to remind us how crucial it is to remain ‘in the loop’ of the world of science, British Science Week is back this March, with the very fitting theme of ‘Connections’.

Following on from the pandemic years where ‘connections’ were craved but kept to a minimum, this topic is high on everyone’s agenda as we move forward to create our new normal.

The majority of all innovations in science, technology, engineering and maths are built on connections, with individuals uniting into research groups to solve problems and, specifically within science, connections happening to result in reactions!

Meet a selection of our scientific superstars

Covering just about everything science has to offer, from space exploration, physics and microbiology, our inspirational, fascinating and (quite frankly) genius speakers on these topics share their incredible knowledge through their workshops and keynote speeches.

Whether you’re after an inspirational women in STEM, or a lab coat-clad researcher, we’ve got the perfect speaker and/or host for your upcoming corporate event, school/university lecture, media appearance or convention!

Beau Lotto

Neuroscientist, entrepreneur, CEO of Lab Misfits (the world’s first neuro-design studio) and Ripple (which holds several highly influential patents in Augmented Reality); Beau Lotto is a three time mainstage TED speaker.

Interacting with his audiences to help them act differently in the face of change, Beau inspires audiences to understand why they need to let go of the assumptions and beliefs that keep them from seeing the world differently.

Hannah Fry

Mathematician, professor and award-winning presenter, Hannah Fry, hosts numerous popular science podcasts and TV shows. She examines the incredible insights data science provides whilst identifying its limitations, with her own personal research focusing on patterns in human behaviour.

Her media outlets, along with her journal and book writing (her book Hello World – How to be Human in the Age of the Machine was shortlisted for numerous of the world’s most prestigious non-fiction awards and won the 2020 Asimov Prize) showcases her joyful ability to bring mathematical ideas to life for audiences of all interests and abilities!

Chris Hadfield

Astronaut and the first Canadian Commander of the International Space Station, Colonel Chris Hadfield, is a pioneer of many ‘historic firsts’. He has intercepted Soviet bombers in Canadian airspace, lived on the ocean floor, been NASA’s Director of Operations in Russia and recorded science and music videos seen by millions.

Chris has achieved what many can only imagine! He now inspires audiences with his fascinating keynote speeches; his insights into leadership, managing change and his deep rooted passion for STEM.

Michio Kaku

Theoretical physicist, futurist, Professor at New York University and best-selling author, Dr. Michio Kaku, is one of the most internationally recognised figures in science.

Michio’s keynotes outline his predictions for the future, illustrate brain functionality and how technology impacts everyone’s daily lives – giving businesses an overview of how the future will influence commerce, finance and technology.

Brian Cox

The UK’s best known experimental physicist, Professor Brian Cox, makes science accessible and engaging to millions worldwide.

Additionally, Brian is a Royal Society University Research Fellow based in the Particle Physics group at the University of Manchester, where he holds the chair. His undeniable down-to-earth personality and likeable enthusiasm makes him a charismatic keynote speaker, who is frequently labelled as a ‘rock star scientist’ (partly due to his time as a professional musician).

Fran Scott

Listed in The Progress 1000 London’s most influential people, Fran Scott is the Science Content Developer at the Royal Institution, as well as being the only female science presenter on CBBC!

A scientist by training and an engineer at heart, Fran uses her knowledge to entertain and excite audiences on stage and screen. Most commonly recognised for her playful (and fiery) demonstrations on Absolute Genius with Dick and Dom on CBBC, Fran is determined to change the lack of female scientist roles on children’s television. She has since been nominated for various awards including BAFTAs, a JAPAN prize and a RTS award.

Kevin Fong

Dr. Kevin Fong’s career spans many areas, including being a NASA doctor, piloting a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for the NHS and being seconded to NHS England COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response team. As a frontline emergency physician, Kevin’s expertise lies in understanding teamwork, risk management and decision-making under extreme pressure.

With degrees in astrophysics, medicine and engineering, Kevin is something of a renaissance man. His unique perspective on science, technology, exploration and the limits of the human body has led him to various media outlets, including hosting the worldwide hit podcast ’13 Minutes to the Moon’, and the stage; sharing his keynote talks on all of the above that are guaranteed to get your brain thinking…

Tim Gregory

Nuclear Chemist, Tim Gregory, spends his days in the lab measuring the chemical and isotopic composition of nuclear materials on a variety of different projects. His deep passion for science shines through all he does, be it a public speaking engagement, media activity or simply at his day job in a lab coat.

Tim’s debut book, released in 2020, received critical acclaim and he has since gone on to present a segment on meteorites on BBC4’s ‘The Sky at Night’, along with various other live television appearances. His love for science shines through all he does with his infectious enthusiasm!
