Monty Halls is a former Royal Marines Officer, explorer, and award-winning storyteller known for helping leaders and teams navigate change with courage and clarity. From working alongside Nelson Mandela during South Africa's transformation to leading expeditions in some of the world's most unpredictable environments, he has spent his career operating under pressure and emerging with insight.

His work has earned him the Bish Medal for services to exploration and has led to a celebrated career producing wildlife and adventure documentaries for the BBC, National Geographic, and Discovery, most notably the beloved Great Escapes series, in which he lived on the remote coasts of Scotland and Ireland with his dog Reuben. As a speaker, author, and thought leader, Monty translates lessons from elite military culture, exploration, and conservation into practical guidance for organisations facing disruption.

He has written thirteen books, with his latest exploring the origins of the Commandos and the leadership principles that helped turn the tide of World War II. Beyond the stage, he works internationally in sustainability and conservation, developing marine sampling systems that empower everyday people to contribute to scientific research systems now used across the UK. His speaking engagements focus on leadership under duress, building resilient team cultures, and thriving in stressful environments, drawing audiences from corporate, educational, and public sectors worldwide.

Monty believes that strong culture is the still point in a turning world, and that good people doing the right thing remain the foundation of every successful team. Through storytelling that blends humour, humanity, and hard-won experience, he inspires audiences to embrace change not as a threat, but as an opportunity to reinforce what matters most. Whether speaking to executives navigating uncertainty or communities working toward shared goals, he delivers a message that is as timely as it is timeless: one rooted in purpose, adaptability, and the power of collective action.
