Colin Murray is a radio and television broadcaster, known particularly within the world of sport. He is the host of BBC Radio 5 live sports panel show "Fighting Talk", a weekly Metro columnist and winner of several Sony Gold Awards. Colin Murray began his career as a news reporter, cutting his teeth at the Ulster News Letter. Colin then set up and co-published his own cutting-edge music magazine 'Blank' and unexpectedly found himself co-hosting for BBC Radio 1's Session in Northern Ireland, after attending a five minute audition believing it was for BBC Radio Ulster – his skills for writing and talking became evident.
Since then Colin has soared through the ranks at BBC Radio 1, deputising for various major shows and doing a six-month stint as host of the flagship evening music programme. He is the host of BBC Radio 5 live sports panel show "Fighting Talk".
In 2012, he was heavily involved with the London Olympics. He co-produced, wrote and presented 5 Live’s landmark Olympic series Colin Murray’s Gold Run, in which he aimed to track down every single living British summer Olympic Gold Medallist. The Radio 5 Live Olympics team won a Sony Gold Award for Best Sports Programme.
Colin has also presented the live NFL games and Super Bowl coverage for Channel 4. In early 2015 Colin entered his fourth season as host of the BBC’s BDO World Darts Championships, from the legendary Lakeside Country Club.
His slick presenting style has seen him scoop countless awards, including four of the prestigious Sony awards. Alongside his regular column in the Metro, he is also a published author.
