Patrick Kielty is a famous Irish comedian. He manages to mix satire with charm in his daring routines, making audiences up and down the country laugh. Patrick Kielty is a fantastic awards host, comedian, and all-round presenter. From stand-up comedy to television presenting, this Irish comic is also busy on the corporate circuit presenting at awards dinners as well as providing cabaret.
Patrick’s Irish break was hosting his own live show PK Tonight which won him an RTS Award for Best Regional Presenter. His first network prime time show followed, hosting After The Break on BBC1, but it was the Channel 4 show Last Chance Lottery, that made him a household name, which he followed with The National Lottery Big Ticket (BBC1).
His extremely successful chat show Patrick Kielty Almost Live (Green Inc. Prods) enjoyed five series on BBC1.
Patrick went on to front a new quiz show, Stupid Punts (CHX Prods), which aired on BBC Choice and BBC2. In 2002 he began co-presenting BBC1's Fame Academy (Endemol) with Cat Deeley. The duo have also hosted 2 series of Celebrity Fame Academy, in aid of Comic Relief!
Patrick co-presented the first series of the hugely popular Celebrity Love Island for ITV with Kelly Brook, and the second series with Fearne Cotton.
In 2007, Patrick interviewed Tony Blair and Bertie Ahern about the Northern Ireland Peace Process. In the same year, he also starred in the West End play A Night In November at the Trafalgar Studios, and took part in the BBC's Live At The Apollo.
Patrick took on the role as radio host and presenter in 2009 by sitting in for Alan Carr on his BBC Radio 2 Show. He participated in Sport Relief 2010 and appeared on The One Show to promote his incredible bike ride across the UK. 2010 also saw him appear on Channel 4's Comedy Gala, Mock The Week, and Sharon Osbourne: A Comedy Roast.
He worked with Radio 2 in 2013 and 2014, broadcasting music specials across the pond.
Patrick’s stand-up tour ‘Help’ debuted in Belfast’s Grand Opera House in early 2016, to both audience and critical acclaim.
Recently, Patrick completed an 80 date tour of his critically acclaimed Stand Up show Borderline across the UK and Ireland.
His BAFTA nominated My Dad, The Peace Deal and Me saw Patrick named UK documentary host of the year at the 2018 Grierson Awards while his most recent film, Patrick Kielty:100 Years of Union also won an RTS award for best presenter.
2023 sees the release of his first feature film, Ballywalter, where he plays the role of Shane alongside IFTA nominated Seána Kerslake.
Furthermore, Patrick's new radio talk show can be heard every Saturday morning on BBC 5Live.
