5 Acts You Can't Miss at This Year's Edinburgh Fringe

1 August 2017

With temperatures peaking in the thirties, the sparkle of chilled prosecco and the waft of burnt sausage in the air, yes, that’s right, the summer months are upon us. Alongside the staples of disposable BBQs and reams of hay fever tablets, this season, of course, means the Edinburgh Fringe Festival .

As industry experts who are privy to the best in the business, we’ve put together a hot list of ones to watch this August!

***

First on the list is musical comedian  Harriet Braine. New on the comedy scene, and brilliantly carving her niche, Harriet brings dead artists to life through her odes, accents and anecdotes. Her hilarious songs and musical interludes make her one to watch this summer.

Next up is Ivo Graham . Apologetically Etonian and perfect for a corporate gig, Ivo made his name at the Fringe by becoming the youngest ever winner of the prestigious 'So You Think You’re Funny' award in 2009. Back in his old stomping ground with even more charm and linguistic prowess, make sure to catch Ivo in the capital of the arts.

Edinburgh Fringe runs from 4th - 28th August 2017

Another name new on the circuit is the master storyteller Jonny Pelham. Making waves with his critically acclaimed shows, Jonny is back for another bite of the cherry this summer when he will be bringing his third solo show to the Fringe. Expect explosive laughs as he captures the audience under his spell with his wry anecdotes.

A visit to Sara Pascoe’s show is an essential pitstop for any festival goer, so don’t make this year any different. Her intelligent quick quips and searing observations on life as we know it have made Sara’s name on the likes of Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Bringing her panel show humour to the stages of Edinburgh, this seasoned performer is sure to delight.

Dominic Holland - back to the Fringe, after a ten-year hiatus

Lastly, a classic on the corporate circuit and a patron of the free Fringe, Dominic Holland  is a must-see this summer. Returning after over a decade hiatus, Dominic is back to indulge us all with his priceless stand-up comedy, which is literally price-less! Watch out, there will be queues for his gags which will leave your cackling long after the show’s over. But after ten years, this rare treat is worth the wait.
