Speakers Corner Mental Health Virtual Showcase

9 May 2022

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced in March 2022 that anxiety and depression had increased by 25% globally during the first year of COVID-19 pandemic. With young people and women worst hit, the WHO described the situation as a wake-up call to countries across the world.

The conversation around mental health is moving away from stigma to understanding. But there is still more that can be done. The illness is omnipresent. It could be affecting your neighbour, your spouse, your family, your colleagues.

We invite you to join our virtual mental health showcase, taking place on Wednesday 18th May at 3PM Speakers Corner virtual showcase, hosted by Anna Mathur, with an expert speaker line-up who will shine a further light on the impact this disease has on all of us.

Alastair Campbell, Petra Velozboer, and Laura Hearn will speak for around 15 minutes each, before a panel discussion to discuss questions taken from the live audience.

Alastair Campbell

The former Director of Communications during Prime Minister Tony Blair's time at No.10, Alastair Campbell has openly spoken about his mental health illness to corporate audiences and appeared in a BBC 2 documentary “Depression and Me” which candidly shared his experience about living with depression.
