TechCrunch: Getting Obstreperous Over in New York This Week

9 May 2016

Online technology  publisher, TechCrunch, is getting obstreperous over in New York this week with its annual conference, Disrupt.

TechCrunch is an online publisher of technology industry news with speaker,  Mike Butcher , being an editor-at-large and regular contributor for the site.

With the event now in its 6th year, TechCrunch Disrupt promises, according to its website, to gather "the best and brightest entrepreneurs, investors, hackers, and tech fans for on-stage interviews". The event includes the Startup Battlefield competition, a 24-hour Hackathon, Startup Alley and Hardware Alley.

Although TechCrunch focuses on established tech firms, it is the innovators  that are the lifeblood of the events with a lot of start-ups choosing to launch products at the event. With investors also attending the event, there is potential for new companies to win financial backing along with taking the top Tech Crunch prize. Past winners include Qwiki, Getaround, YourMechanic, and Enigma.io.

Tech Crunch runs from the 9 - 11 May and full details can be found on their website , and updates via  Twitter @TechCrunch.
