Elsa is a former venture capital investor and scientist by background, who helped build and launch over two dozen headline-making life sciences startups to transform the food, health, and tech industries at the world's most active early-stage investor.

She speaks five languages, has lived in nine countries and holds a mini-MBA and PhD in synthetic biology from Imperial College London and the University of Hong Kong, for which she won a merit-based research scholarship. She now manages her own investment and trading portfolio, appears as a popular futurist keynote speaker around the world and writes fiction. She has published speculative fiction as an Amazon-bestselling author, critically acclaimed poetry and art, took part in the BBC's award-winning Thriller Podcast Forest 404, and won an honorable mention at Writers of the Future in Hollywood, L.A. Recently, she made the Young Storyteller Award Longlist in Vienna (Top 20 out of >1100) with her new speculative fiction book.
