Jonny Jacobs is an award-winning Finance professional who feels passionately about the role of mental fitness in the workplace. As a kid growing up in Glasgow facing life's tough realities, Jonny uses the power of his lived mental health experience to champion the importance of mental fitness in the workplace and beyond.
Now more than ever, mental health and wellbeing is a topic that is dominating boardrooms across the globe. The positive impact of mental fitness in the workplace will be a key asset to unlocking the true potential of a business and its workforce. That’s why Jonny Jacobs believes that we each have a role to play in breaking the stigma, one conversation at a time.
Prior to his current position as a Finance Director at Starbucks, Jonny was Strategy & Transformation Director at pladis, the global snacking business which brings together iconic brands including McVitie's and Godiva. As the Executive Board sponsor for Mental Health, he led the Employee Mental Health & Wellbeing initiative, which led to the national "Let's Talk" partnership between McVitie's and mental health charity, Mind.
Jonny is an advocate for mental wellbeing across many forums, and in 2019 he became a Trustee of the Mental Health Foundation, the UK’s leading charity for everyone’s mental health. He is also an Advisory Board member of Mad World, a leading summit for mental health in business, and a Goalkeeper for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation dedicated to accelerating progress towards the United Nations Global Goals.
Jonny's vision is to create an environment where we truly support colleagues, friends, families and stakeholders, through challenging times and also support positive mental fitness. Jonny supports organisations by sharing his own personal story and tools that business can use to build their own plans.
