As well as presenting Newsnight on BBC2, including a spell as their Political Editor, Emily is a BBC News Channel anchor and part of the core Election presenting team where she covers all UK and US Elections and has worked alongside David Dimbleby.
When she isn’t drawing on her exhaustive knowledge to deliver insightful and topical ‘election and beyond’ speeches, Emily is busy making documentaries on a diverse set of subjects including Nicolas Sarkozy, Donald Trump and Barbie.
In 2011, she bagged an exclusive television interview with Mark Zuckerberg to give life to her BBC2 documentary ‘Inside Facebook’, which earned the 2013 Harold Wincott Business Programme of the Year Award. Adding another string to her bow, in 2017 she won the London Press Club ‘Broadcast Journalist of the Year’ awards for her work on Newsnight.
Having interviewed the cream of the crop, from major political figures, including Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger, Christine Lagarde, and many of the previous UK prime ministers, to key sporting figures, entertainment faces, and business bods, such as David Beckham, Hugh Grant and George Soros, Emily is well-deserving of her status an interviewing legend.
She has written for the Spectator, the Sunday Times, the Guardian and the Sun, and is comfortable moderating all areas of UK/Euro economics, politics, current affairs and finance.
Before joining the BBC—where she became the face of London news—she was the Sky News Business correspondent. Prior to that, she spent six years working with NBC Asia in the Far East and reporting from China, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Emily speaks French, Spanish, Italian - and dabbles in Mandarin Chinese.
