Graeme Leach is one of Britain's leading economists and CEO and Chief Economist of Macronomics, a macroeconomic, geopolitical and future megatrends research consultancy formed in 2016.
Over the past decade Graeme has made 100s of speeches on the future economic outlook, and economic policy, in the UK and more than 25 countries across the globe.
Graeme has written and spoken widely on the short and long term economic impact of Covid-19. He is also an expert on the future impact of Brexit on the UK and EU economies. He has written a forthcoming book: Fast Forward. Fast Forward argues that the world economy in the 2020s will be characterised by 3 once in a century shocks all in one decade: Covid-19, a technology led spike in productivity growth and a demographic shock wave.
Graeme is a former chief economist and director of Policy at the Institute of Directors (IoD), where he was also a member of the Board. Graeme represented the IoD in economic discussions with the Chancellor and 10 Downing Street.
He is a visiting professor of economic policy and a senior fellow of the Legatum Institute in London. He is also a member of the IEA Shadow Monetary Policy Committee (SMPC) and a life fellow of the IoD.
He has undertaken 100s of live television and radio interviews on BBC News, Sky News, Radio 4's Today Programme and others. From 2014-19 he wrote a weekly column for the City AM newspaper and has written numerous articles for the Daily Telegraph and The Times.
He started his career at The Henley Centre for Forecasting, where he was chief UK economist and chief international economist. He has also worked as economic adviser to the Scottish Provident Investment Group.
