He was appointed the first-ever official psychologist to the European Ryder Cup team by captain Ian Woosnam in 2006 which recorded a history with a record-equalling victory margin. Jamil subsequently worked with 22 of the top 50 golfers in the world, including two world number one's.
Jamil's work also took him to work in Formula 1 with drivers David Coulthard and Eddie Irving, and the 2009 Ashes winning England cricket team.
He was remarkably one of a select group of external psychologists ever to be allowed to study astronauts on the 2008 NASA Space Programme.
Jamil’s diverse background led him to psychology. For two years, he played professional cricket – badly – and when he sought the help of a psychologist, who highlighted the fact that technically he was competent but his attitude let him down, he was hooked.
Taking this knowledge further he co-founded We Do Things Differently. In this role, he works with a team to drive meaningful change. Helping delegates in the business world to understand the difference between activity and productivity, his compelling presentations drive change and truly engage his audiences.
Prior to founding his own venture, Jamil was spotted by a TV producer during a mind-reading performance at a club, Jamil was introduced to Derren Brown, and worked with him on a number of TV shows. As his public profile grew, he was picked up by professional golfer Gary Evans, who almost won The Open, with Jamil’s help. His reputation became his calling card, and the sporting world was his oyster.
