Keegan Hirst

Encompassing the themes of teamwork; diversity & inclusion; and his battle with mental health issues, Keegan's inspiring and heart-warming story is popular among the events circuit.

Keegan Hirstis a former professional rugby league footballer who played for Wakefield Trinity in the Super League, and was the first British professional rugby league player to come out as gay.

Encompassing the themes of teamwork; diversity & inclusion; and his battle with mental health issues, Keegan's inspiring and heart-warming story is popular among the events circuit.

After years of denial which lead to mental health issues such as considering suicide, Keegan realised he had to be truthful to himself and those around him, which he knew was going to significantly change his life.

Still at the forefront of the Rugby industry, Keegan uses his story to reflect on team work and how to overcome pressures and workplace politics to stand out for who you are and for what you believe in.

He’s a great client to consider, not just in this month but all year round and can give first hand advice on how best a team can succeed to its full potential by using the strength of diversity, whether that be LGBTQ, religion, mental health or cultural differences.

On the events circuit, Keegan has spoken at events for the Home Office, BRIT Insurance, Oglivy and the Chartered Institute for Insurance.
