Olly Smith is loved by the British public as a TV presenter, wine expert, foodie, writer and awards host. He has designed a wine glass and his own decanter called The Bottle, and has published several books.
Perhaps best known for being a regular on both Saturday Kitchen and This Morning, Olly is major player on the small screen. Olly’s TV distinctions include The Hairy Bikers Hairy Dieters; The Wright Stuff; The Sarah Millican Show and Harry Hill’s TV Burp. He has also made frequent appearances on BBC Breakfast and on news and magazine-style TV and radio shows.
Olly is Wine Editor of the Mail on Sunday and writes a weekly column for Live Magazine for the Mail on Sunday which has a readership of over 5 million readers. He regularly contributes to various publications from Decanter to Q magazine.
He wrote and illustrated ‘Eat & Drink: Good Food That’s Great to Drink With’, and is Celebrity Drinks Ambassador for the Ideal Home Show.
He hosts many live events around the country including BBC Good Food Show and previously Masterchef Live and Taste of London. He is also one of the Three Wine Men with Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin.
Olly has turned his hand to design with his own wine glass, which can be used for red and white wine and is dishwasher friendly, as well as a beautifully crafted red wine bottle.
Awarded the Wines of Portugal Journalism Award in 2012, Olly is also the recipient of the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Communicator of the Year Award 2009, an honour he described as being like “surfing all the way to the shores of Happyland”, and the Drinks Business Young Achiever of the Year Award in 2009.
Before wine called, Olly wrote TV and film scripts for shows including kids’ classics Pingu and Charlie & Lola,and wrote jokes for awarde-wining Wallace & Gromit’s Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
