Ore Oduba

Ore Oduba is one of TV’s hottest young talents, winning the nation’s hearts as he took the 2016 Strictly Come Dancing Crown, Ore has established himself as a household name on the broadcasting circuit. Seamlessly moving from the National Lottery to the BBC Breakfast Studio, he is an engaging and charming performer with a wealth of live event experience, his energy and enthusiasm will infect any audience.

Starting out his television career in children’s TV, ore can successfully boast of becoming the youngest ever anchor of CBBC’s Newsround and Sportsround only months after leaving Loughborough University. He was also awarded the title of Best On-Screen Male Presenter at the Student TV Awards (NaSTA) under his belt. Covering some cultural turning points during his broadcasting career here, Ore reported from the British military bases in Afghanistan and anchored coverage from the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

Making waves on primetime television, before becoming the face of 2016’s Strictly, Ore regularly hosted the UK’s leading morning news programme, BBC Breakfast.

Experienced in both studio presenting and on-location broadcasting, Ore can handle any curveball with unflappable brilliance. A strong background in sports means that Ore was one of the lead broadcasters for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, bringing the public highlights from the prolific event. He has also reported from other iconic sporting moments on numerous occasions, including the London Marathon, Wimbledon and Match of the Day.

Sport has always been one of his passions. Graduating with a degree in Sport Science and Social Science, Ore had also been picked to represent the South West of England U18 in rugby as well as being on the England Hockey’s elite U18 development scheme. In 2007, he was part of the Loughborough Students 1st XI hockey squad that won BUSA Championship Gold.

In 2014, Ore combined his love of sport and entertainment as one of the presenters on BBC1’s brand new series A Question of Sport: Super Saturday, challenging members of the public to a number of crazy games. Ore’s work on BBC Radio 5 Live is further evidence of his all-round broadcasting ability - a recognisable voice having read sports news on the station, Ore can often be heard reporting for 5 Live Sport during the football season.

His knowledge, empathy and understanding of young people in sport saw Ore selected as a judge to find the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year (2009 - 2012) and in 2010 he was on the judging panel for BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards.

To add another strong to Ore’s bow, he was heavily involved with both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic coverage. Bringing his snappy charm from Athletes Village to across the globe, Ore combined his own love and knowledge of sport to deliver some exceptional broadcasting.

Ore has demonstrated he is as comfortable on the stage as he is on the sports field. He first emerged as a keen dancer in 2013, when he performed during the opening of the show on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief, before he went on to win 2016’s Strictly Come Dancing.
