Paul Mason Biography

As economic editor at Channel 4, Paul Mason has covered some of the largest economic and political stories of the last 15 years.

Stationed outside Lehman Brothers’ New York HQ Paul covered the collapse of the financial institution and “has hardly stopped for breath since”. As the global meltdown spread its influence and impacted all corners of the earth, he reported on the social and economic factors affected by the financial devastation.  He describes his brief as one that covers an agenda summed up as: "profit, people and planet".

He has been twice shortlisted for the Orwell Prize, won the Wincott Award for Business Journalism in 2003, the Diageo African Business Reporting Award in 2007, and was named the Royal Television Society's specialist reporter of the year in 2012 for his coverage of the economic crisis and social unrest in southern Europe.
