As Economics Editor at Channel 4 until 2016, Paul Mason covered some of the largest economic and political stories of the last 15 years. Now a freelance journalist, he continues to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge news.

Stationed outside Lehman Brothers’ New York HQ Paul covered the collapse of the financial institution and since he hasn’t stopped breaking the world’s biggest news stories. As the global meltdown spread its influence and impacted all corners of the earth, he reported on the social and economic factors affected by the financial devastation.

He has been twice shortlisted for the Orwell Prize, won the Wincott Award for Business Journalism in 2003, the Diageo African Business Reporting Award in 2007, and was named the Royal Television Society's specialist reporter of the year in 2012 for his coverage of the economic crisis and social unrest in southern Europe.

A Music and Politics graduate from Sheffield University, Paul turned his hand to journalism in the early 1990s, spending nine years covering business in specialist magazines and newspapers before sidestepping into TV.

He has written several highly-acclaimed books mapping out the global landscape and economic and political trends, he is also a visiting Professor at the University of Wolverhampton.
