Suzie Imber gained international acclaim when she won the BBC2 series 'Astronauts: Do You Have What It Takes?' overseen by astronaut Chris Hadfield. Throughout the series, she tackled challenges such as taking her own blood, speaking Russian under extreme g-forces, and practising emergency procedures at NASA's Aquarius undersea training facility. Chris Hadfield endorsed her with a letter of recommendation for the European Space Agency's astronaut training programme.
Professionally, Suzie is a Professor of Planetary Science at the University of Leicester, focusing on space weather and the interactions between planetary magnetic fields and solar wind. She plays a crucial role in the BepiColombo mission to Mercury and contributes to significant academic publications on the future of space exploration.
