Event organisers are facing obstacles the likes of which we’ve never seen before, and the wider business world is scrambling to make sense of the pandemic we face. But we know that it’s in times like these when we need to adapt, innovate, and build resilience within our teams to navigate through to the other side.
Our Speakers Corner Connects virtual event 'Building Resilience and Achieving Success in a Time of Crisis', hosted by Daisy McAndrew, brought together 3 incredible speakers who shared how they too overcame the toughest obstacles to achieve incredible things, when many said it couldn’t be done.
We began the event with Debra Searle , who shared how, against all odds, she rowed the Atlantic solo after being abandoned at sea. She shared tips on how to combat isolation, ask for help and find positivity boosters that push you to innovate like never before.
Our next speaker was Farrah Storr , the award-winning editor-in-chief of Elle UK, former editor-in-chief of Women's Health and Cosmopolitan, and the author of The Discomfort Zone. She spoke about how constraint can lead to creative breakthroughs, broke down how we can conquer our fears in the face of discomfort and adversity, and how she's keeping her team motivated and creative in a time of crisis.
The event ended with former Royal Marine Commando, Jason Fox , who spoke about leading and motivating his teams during high-pressure operations worldwide and how people can use strategies of emotional resilience and planning to tackle challenges in times of unprecedented change.
After a brief Question & Answer session, where we asked our experts advice for advice on navigating challenges at work and beyond, Daisy McAndrew helped facilitate an insightful conversation that delved deep intobuilding resiliece and helped to hopefully support our clients and inspire creative solutions to the massive challenge’s businesses are currently facing.
