Mark Jones: Awards Hosts & Presenters
Mark Jones is the ultimate awards and event host. Mark has fronted countless events over the years, and happily admits that hosting awards and sporting dinners are his specialist subjects. As a radio broadcaster, and presenter of the Sky Sports’ Masters Football series, Mark is able to confidently host all kinds of events.
Mark Jones is an experienced and entertaining awards host, MC and presenter who has fronted countless events, often working with some of his heroes, such as David Beckham, Michael Jackson, Cristiano Ronaldo, Frank Bruno, Ryan Giggs, Phil Collins, David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, Sir Ian Botham and Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mark hosts events in the UK and worldwide, from awards to business summits and conferences, to live TV programmes, fundraisers, auctions, concerts, festivals and more. He’s fronted a successful ‘sportsmen’s-dinners-for-the-troops’ tour in 2000 across war-torn Kosovo with two of England's World Cup winners and can even boast of hosting the world-famous dog show 'Crufts'.
Mark has been MC for Manchester United’s Player-of-the-Year awards every year since 2002. He’s also been live MC for Sky Sports' Masters Football since 2001, hosting all their televised tournaments in all the UK’s major arenas, plus those in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Brunei and Macau in China, presenting all the live TV interviews too. He has covered Rugby League and cricket, featuring on Channel 4 and Sky Sports on their ODIs, Test Matches and County games around the UK, where he conducted all the televised interviews with Sir Ian Botham, David Gower, David 'Bumble' Lloyd, Michael Holding and the late, great Richie Benaud.
In 2001, Mark was much too close (just four blocks away) from New York's Twin Towers during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He spent the rest of that day as a Salvation Army volunteer helping Emergency Services; for the rest of the week, he reported ‘live’ from Ground Zero for UK radio.
His unrivalled experience as one of the UK's top radio presenters can be tracked back to when he started out at Liverpool's Radio City during their illustrious heyday, it was here he became an award-winner (with a Sony®) for his hosting the 'Biggest Solo Concert in history', Michael Jackson at Aintree Racecourse, where he entertained the crowd of over 125,000 onstage all day.
Regularly voted ‘Presenter of the month', he also received many accolades from the Variety Club of Great Britain, where he is a long-standing Barker. Mark also covered Manchester United, Glasgow Celtic & Liverpool FC’s pre-season American tours for UK radio. After several successful years broadcasting on the two huge Century FM networks (now Smooth FM), Mark returned to host a daily UK-networked programme on Magic. He's been regularly heard on Manchester’s Magic 1152 (formerly Piccadilly Radio). He even spread his experienced wings (and tonsils) over the Atlantic, featuring on American radio stations WEFT and Q-96 in Champaign, Illinois, where he also hosted the American Heart Association's black-tie fundraising dinners in 2010 and 2011, helping to raise record-breaking amounts in their auctions.
Mark has also written and published best-selling several books, and has appeared on ITV’s ‘Cold Feet’ and ‘The Forsyte Saga’ and the BBC’s ‘Clocking Off’; not limiting his talents to radio. Professional, humorous and experienced, Mark is the perfect choice for all manner of awards.
