At the International Emmys, hosted by Graham Norton, David Frost is awarded the Honorary Founders Award

24 November 2009

The 37th International Emmy Awards  in New York were hosted by Graham Norton with excitement as Brazil received it's first ever award for a Bollywood-style telenovela India: a Love Story shot on location at the Taj Mahal.

However, the highlight of the evening, was Sir David Frost receiving an honorary lifetime achievement award for his career as a television host both in the UK and the US.  Success came to David Frost in the early 60s with That Was The Week That Was, followed by endless television presenting including the famous Richard Nixon Watergate interviews which eventually turned into the successful West End and Broadway play and film Frost Nixon.

Sir David produced and hosted a weekly Al Jazeera English programme Frost Over the World.  The lifetime achievement award was presented to Sir David by Barbara Walters.

Sir David Frost passed away on September 1st, 2013.
