Co-author of the children’s book series, Football School, opens up the school curriculum through the lens of football. His was once the Guardian’s correspondent in South America, where he wrote his first book Futebol: The Brazilian Way of Life. He also co-wrote the autobiography of Pelé.

Alex is also a regular contributor to Radio 4 and YouTube channel Numberphile, the world’s #1 maths channel, where he has the most watched video, with over 17 million views. He presented a five-part documentary on Brazil for the BBC, and has made his own films for BBC2’s Newsnight, More 4 News and Al Jazeera.

Alex graduated in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University and speaks fluent Portuguese.
