Adopted in Australia at just 10 days old, Deborah Frances-White was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, as a teenager she left her home and everything she knew with a one-way ticket to London. Upon arriving in the UK, she worked as interpreter in both sign language and Japanese, Deborah also read English at The University of Oxford.

After graduating, she founded the innovative improv company The Spontaneity Shop, in 1997. Alongside her partner, Tom Salinsky, together they wrote The Improv Handbook, it was published to great acclaim. The Spontaneity Shop continues to run both improvisation workshops and communications training for companies and individuals. Teaching advertising executives, bankers, lawyers, charity workers and many others how to give better presentations, network with ease, be more charismatic leaders or be more inspiring and creative, Deborah's corporate work has left leading business people with countless valuable takeaways.

A regular at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Latitude, Adelaide, Melbourne and London, Deborah’s popularity across the globe is a testament to her resounding brilliance.

Her BBC Radio 4 series Deborah Frances-White Rolls the Dice won 2016 The Writers’ Guild Award for Best Radio Comedy. The Guilty Feminist, the podcast she hosts with comedian Sofie Hagen has 50 million downloads and been ranked in the Top Ten UK comedy podcasts in the iTunes charts and she is also a Chicago Improv Festival Artistic Associate. She also hosts the diversity-based comedy panel show, Global Pillage.

Deborah is a screenwriter who has had commissions from the BBC and Channel 4 and her feature film Say My Name will be released in 2019. Her book, 'The Guilty Feminist' was published for Virago in September 2018 and reached the Top 10 Times Bestsellers List.
