Sony Kapoor is a globally recognised macroeconomist, investment expert, and sustainability advocate with over 25 years of experience tackling some of the world’s most pressing policy, financial, and geopolitical challenges. His career is as diverse as it is influential, spanning investment banking, economic policymaking, strategy consulting, geopolitical advisory, interdisciplinary research, and senior leadership roles across both the corporate and non-profit sectors, with impact felt on five continents.
Currently, Sony serves as Chairman of the World Benchmarking Alliance in the Netherlands, CEO of the Nordic Institute for Finance, Technology and Sustainability in Norway, and Trustee of Friends of Europe in Belgium. He is also Commissioner for the Lancet Commission on Global Governance for Health in London, and until recently was Interdisciplinary Professor of Climate, Finance, and Geoeconomics at the European University Institute in Italy. Over the course of his career, he has advised six G20 presidencies, the EU, UN, IMF, World Bank, numerous governments, global investors, multinationals, and ambitious start-ups alike.
