Her first job Whitehall job was with the Ministry of Defence. Suzy had many classified roles. Rumour has it she is a trained interrogator. What IS known is that she has a PhD in Military Suicide. Moving into the Cabinet Office, with a job in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, Suzy then left government for the world of business in 2007 and became a chartered director.

She has a current portfolio of board roles with many high-profile organisations. She is on the board of the Institute of Directors (IoD), she is the Deputy Chairman of London-based think tank the RSA, and she has just finished six years as the deputy chair of the body that regulates the internet. She also sits on the State Honours Committee, the body that makes honours recommendations to the Prime Minister and the Queen.
Suzy is also on the board of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) which regulates and funds (with a budget of over £5 billion) the country’s 120+ universities. She also recently completed a 9 year stint at Westminster University and was Deputy Chairman of the governing body.
Suzy started out life as a West End actress, and went on to be producer, presenter and editor of her own travel programme on LBC Radio. With an incredibly diverse career, she has spoken in many settings about being the only woman in the UK to have been a West End actress, a government scientist and a board director whilst also raising a large family.
Suzy is an expert at juggling complex responsibilities and achieving success in the face of relentless barriers.
