Tim Campbell is a young entrepreneur from London’s East End who made his name as the winner of the hit BBC TV series The Apprentice and going on to become the first Project Director of the Health & Beauty division within Lord Alan Sugar's company, Amstrad PLC. He was awarded an MBE in the Queen's 2012 New Year Honours list.
Tim was working for London Underground when he applied for the programme. When he left Amstrad after two years to launch his own business, Lord Alan’s message to Tim was testament to his ability and potential:
“He has been a great asset to the company and I wish him the best of luck for the future. He was the right choice and I will be there to offer any help and guidance should he need it.”
Tim has founded the Bright Ideas Trust, a charitable social enterprise which encourages young budding entrepreneurs from disadvantaged backgrounds to start business ventures, by giving them greater access to start-up finance, real business mentors, professional services advisors and educational programmes. Bright Ideas Trust has already generated successful start-ups, much excitement and interest from Corporate Organisations, Philanthropists and HNWI and innovative young entrepreneurs, as well as praise from senior MPs including former Prime Minister David Cameron.
Tim is well respected within government advising on business support and within the business community as he has had the pleasure of speaking to several organisations across the country including Ernst & Young, Deutsche Bank, Accenture, Citibank, NHS, Conservative Party Conference, Octopus Investments, J P Morgan and Morgan Stanley just to name a few. Now he is working in the emerging talent department of Alexander Mann Solutions. He has shown a talent and ability to actualise his ideas and plans and coupled with his positive outlook on life and what can be achieved by taking a ‘no excuses’ stance his inspirational messages are always well received.
Tim is co-author of one of Amazon’s top 10 business books for 2010 ‘What’s Your Bright Idea’ and uses his time to support young people with apprenticeships and training in his key role as former Mayor of London, Boris Johnson's Ambassador for training and enterprise. Boris Johnson praised Tim on his work in supporting aspiring entrepreneurs.
