The Knowledge Guild 2022 Leadership under Pressure: Seizing the Moment Personally and Professionally.

After two years in lockdown, we were excited to reintroduce the Knowledge Guild in collaboration with The Brewery on the topic of Leadership under Pressure.

We handpicked a speaker line-up designed to genuinely inspire our audiences to seize the moment personally and professionally.

Hosted by Formula One motor racing expert and broadcaster Mark Gallagher, we were joined by Sarah Furness, Amar Latiff, and David Coulthard. The diversity of speakers talking about leadership under pressure made it a fantastic masterclass on how to control ourselves in extreme situations under pressure.

The night kicked off with Sarah Furness, a RAF helicopter pilot, Squadron leader, mentor, and facilitator. She shared her experience of colliding with wires and facing death on two occasions, and explained what she has learnt about how our brains function and what we should focus on in extreme situations. She mentioned we sometimes self-sabotage and doubt ourselves, but by preparing ourselves for change and training ourselves to focus on the right things under pressure, she inspired us to fly higher and conquer fear.

Sarah was followed by  Amar Latif, blind traveller, successful entrepreneur and founder of specialist tour operator, Traveleyes. Amar truly inspired us to keep aiming high and dreaming big. Once you reach the top, you will look around, and the panoramic views will be eye-opening, and only then will you realise what a beautiful world we live in.

Amar's stories were followed by one of the world's most widely recognised sports personalities, David Coulthard. A former Formula One Grand Prix driver, television broadcaster, author, and entrepreneur, David shared his experience as a F1 driver and emphasised the critical importance of teamwork and culture in what defines a team's success. Peak performance requires support. What makes the difference between a good team and an amazing team is the willingness of people to want to work together and there being strength in collaboration.

It was a night to remember with brilliant speakers and delicious food and drinks served by The Brewery. Following the panel the event came to a close, leaving us all with food for thought and inspiration coursing through our veins. It was amazing to be back at The Brewery at a Knowledge Guild and to share some of our favourite speakers and their expertise with our clients.
