Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE


Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE is a legendary English rower, four-time Olympic Gold Medallist, ten-time World Champion, and now a respected broadcaster, TV presenter, and top motivational speaker. With an incredible career that saw him dominate the world of rowing, Matthew is best known for winning Gold at four consecutive Olympic Games (1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004), three of which were alongside Sir Steve Redgrave. His Olympic journey began at just 21, when he and Redgrave won Gold in the Coxless Pair at the Barcelona Olympics.

Matthew’s achievements include a world record-breaking performance in 2001 with James Cracknell, and leading the Great Britain coxless four to a thrilling victory at the 2004 Olympics, winning by just eight hundredths of a second. His dedication to the sport earned him a place on the International Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Commission, and he later took part in the 2012 London Olympics celebrations, rowing the Gloriana for the Diamond Jubilee and bearing the Olympic torch across the River Thames.

Since retiring from rowing, Matthew has built a successful career in broadcasting, presenting and reporting for the BBC on major sporting events such as the Olympics, Henley Royal Regatta, and The Boat Races. He also directed the documentary "Unbelievable – The Chad Le Clos Story", showcasing his skills behind the camera.

Knighted in 2004 and awarded the Thomas Keller Medal in 2005 for his contribution to rowing, Matthew’s legacy extends beyond sport. As an accomplished motivational speaker, he has inspired audiences at top companies such as Procter & Gamble, IBM, British Telecom, and NatWest, sharing his insights on leadership, resilience, and peak performance.
