Drum Cafe

Drum Cafe started in South Africa in 1996 and began its life as a weekly drum session. Since they have taken their unique brand of musical collaboration into every type of event from massive conferences for thousands of people (each supplied with one African drum) to weddings and private parties.  The Drum Cafe experience is an uplifting teambuilding and motivational session that longs lives in the memory of anyone involved in the event.

They have since opened a club in Cape Town and have offices dotted across the world, their global reach is a testament to the powerful experience a session with them evokes. They have drummed with accountants, doctors, lawyers, businessmen, sheep vets, fig scientists, prime ministers, presidents, princes and just about every kind of crowd you can imagine. Their experience has enabled them to run just about any kind of event for any kind of crowd.

Drumming has a strong history in Africa, it is used at births, weddings, funerals, celebrations and battle. It marks an important occasion, it raises the pulse and awakens the senses. The Drum Café transfers this cultural experience to anyone who is willing, both educating and enlightening teams on the history of drumming.

Group drumming is a powerful team building method, because the effect is immediate and is felt by everyone. The individual has to be aware of his/her neighbours and has a direct effect on the group.

Corporate Drumming can be a fantastic diagnostic tool.  Through either discussion or simply group observation the facilitators will attempt to highlight all the positive and the negative dynamics.  The group will then see more clearly its position, its lessons and hopefully its direction.
