Nina Conti shot to fame by when she won winning the BBC New Comedy Award back in 2002. Nina has won numerous comedy awards for her writing, acting and ventriloquism.
Perhaps best known for her act alongside ‘side-kick’ Monkey (Monk), Nina’s repertoire also includes an act where she makes the audience part of the show using a mask to cover her participant’s face which always has both audiences and those on stage howling with laughter.
As a comedian, Nina’s various shows at The Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne Comedy Festival and across the world's top comedy clubs, are always a sell-out. She has been nominated and won various awards including a British Comedy Awards and a BAFTA.
Nina has appeared widely on television, including shows such as Sunday Night at the Palladium, Live at the Apollo and Nina also had roles in shows such as Black Books and has appeared as a guest on a range of shows from 8 Out of 10 Cats to The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Nina’s radio work includes four series of Claire in the Community, Sneakiepeeks and appearing as a guest on Parsons and Naylor's Pull-Out Sections.
Nina and Monk portrayed a morning weather team on the fictional “Wake Up L.A.” in Christopher Guest’s 2006 film, For Your Consideration. In 2009 Nina appeared in Alan Freestone’s low-budget film, Peacock Season, about the Edinburgh festival.
Nina is an experienced and popular act on the corporate circuit. She has performed after-dinner cabaret with Monk (and sometimes her other puppets) for clients as varied as Nokia, Caspian Publishing, AAH Pharmaceuticals not to mention countless individuals’ private parties.
