
Bennett Arron
An award-winning writer and stand up comedian, Bennett has performed all around the UK and has also entertained audiences in the United Arab Emirates, Rome, Spain, Germany and Hong Kong as well as having sold out shows at the Edinburgh Festival.
Bennett Arron is the only Jewish/Welsh comedian on the comedy circuit. He describes his humour as a cross between the paranoid angst of Max Boyce and the colloquial valley humour of Woody Allen.
An award-winning writer and stand up comedian, Bennett has performed throughout the world.
Bennett’s television and radio performing credits include; Not Tonight With John Sergeant, Glee Time (in which he hosted a series of six stand-up comedy shows), Large (a satirical sketch show for the BBC), Never Write Off The Germans (a panel game show for Radio 2) and he was a Presenter on Big Brother's Little Brother. Bennett is also a trained actor and appeared in the film Dead Long Enough alongside Michael Sheen. He has written for many comedy programmes, including Off Their Rockers, Hit The Road Jack and the BAFTA-winning V Graham Norton.
Bennett directed and presented the programme How To Steal an Identity for Channel 4, in which he stole the identity of former Home Secretary Charles Clarke. The programme was Pick of the Day in The Guardian and The Telegraph described as “Fascinating and Disturbing” by the TV Times, and went on to be short-listed for a BAFTA. He appeared as an Identity Theft Expert on Sky News, Lorraine, 3@3, Channel 4 News, Five News and BBC Breakfast.
Described as 'A Welsh Seinfield' by the Guardian, Bennett has toured alongside Ricky Gervais.
Bennett is a past winner of both the TAPS Comedy Writer of the Year Award and the BBC New Writer's Award, and is a past finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards.However his proudest moment was coming third in the 1982 Boy Scout Disco Dancing Championship.
