As child actors, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly met on the set of BBC1’s Byker Grove when they played on-screen best friends PJ and Duncan.

As a result of their appeal and charisma on the small screen, the pair signed a record deal and released the iconic Let’s Get Ready to Rumble, amongst fourteen other top 20 hits, as well as three multi-platinum albums; countless awards and international tours.

When the boys gave up music in 1997, the route back to TV seemed the most natural. BBC1’s Ant & Dec Show won a BAFTA, and their Channel 4 show Ant & Dec Unzipped won the boys a BAFTA.

Ant & Dec Productions was set up in 1998, through which they launched SM:TV Live and CD:UK – both shows combining the boys’ love of music, comedy and cartoons. Co-hosted with Cat Deeley, the show won numerous awards and received higher ratings than the BBC.

After signing an exclusive contract with ITV1, the pair also hosted the Brit Awards and Comic Relief, and eventually the BAFTA winning POP Idol, the forerunner of X-Factor.

Prime Time Saturday night was taken over by the boys when they launched the award-winning Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway which has run for a solid 13 seasons.

In 2002, came I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. It has become something of an iconic show and continues to hold a popular and secure slot in the annual TV calendar.

Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon; All-Star Cup and the feature film Alien Autopsy, which took over £2 million at the box office, followed, and the pair interviewed all the senior members of the Royal Family for the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Princes Trust.

They also set up the successful and charitable Soccer Aid, where an England team, led by Robbie Williams, took on The Rest of the World, led by Gordon Ramsay.

Their production company Gallowgate also produced the primetime Pokerface, where the winner took home £1million.

ITV1’s Britain's Got Talent was launched by the duo in 2007. The final peaked at 11.2 million viewers, becoming the highest rated entertainment programme of the decade alongside I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Breaking into new territory, the boys ventured over to the US, where they presented Wanna Bet in 2008. They also became Nintendo brand ambassadors in 2009.

Being immortalised in waxworks for Madame Tussauds Blackpool, hosting the BRITS in 2014 and hosting The Queen’s 90th Birthday Live on ITV, the duo continue to dominate the entertainment circuit.
