Jonathan attended the University of North Carolina and graduated in 1998 with the highest honours degree in History and Economics. He is also a Rhodes Scholar with an M.Litt from Oxford University.
Before he founded Variant Perception, Jonathan worked as a generalist equity analyst at SAC Capital, an internationally renowned hedge fund company. A few years later he began working for the Bank of America in London as a Vice President on the proprietary trading desk.
In 2007, Jonathan co-founded a company called Demotix; an award winning picture and video newswire, the news was information given by the public. Two years later he founded Variant Perception and in 2011 he started working for the hedge fund company Hinde Capital.
Jonathan is the co-author of a book titles ‘Endgame: The End of the Debt Supercycle’, this book was in the best-seller lists of the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal. He has also featured numerous times on CNBC, Bloomberg and in the NY Times to give his opinion on the global economy.
More recently Jonathan was a finalist for the Wolfson economics prize, one of the most prestigious economics prizes after the Nobel.
