James Cracknell and Ben Fogle are to embark on their latest risky adventure, retracing a Victorian expedition to cross Australia which ended in death. Ben and James will be following in the footsteps of Burke and Wills, an Englishman and an Irishman who travelled from Melbourne up through the centre of the country to its north coast 150 years ago. The pair will start the expedition in October and are hoping to complete the trip in 9 weeks, almost 3 months more quickly than the fastest time to date.

Britain should focus less on building environmentally friendly housing and more on providing “happy” places to live, according to Grand Designs host Kevin McCloud. The presenter journeyed to the Dharavi slum in Mumbai after hearing claims that it might hold some answers to the problems facing our cities. Kevin lived, slept, worked and ate in the slum where disease is rife and it is estimated that there is one lavatory for every 1,400 residents. Kevin believes that the British Government shouldn't worry so much about creating eco-towns, but instead focus on the social aspect of housing, how to make people happier.
