George Parker has been the Political Editor of the FT since 2007 and has reported on some of the biggest events in recent British history, including the financial crash, the Scottish referendum and Brexit.
Prior to his current job, George was the FT's bureau chief in Brussels (2002-2007), giving him a rare perspective on both the British and Brussels ends of the Brexit negotiation.
George was raised in Devon and his journalistic career started on the Western Morning News; he started reporting on Westminster in 1990 for the WMN and joined the FT as a junior political reporter in 1995.
He is a regular presenter of Radio 4's Week in Westminster and a frequent political commentator on television and radio.
In 2010, George was elected chairman of the parliamentary press gallery and shortlisted for the UK Press Gazette awards as Political Journalist of the Year.
His interests include football and cycling. He is married with three children.
