Founder of the Symphony Nova Scotia in his native country Canada, Boris is the artistic director of Canada’s only professional training orchestra. In 2011, Boris took on the role of Principal Guest Conductor of the McGill Chamber Orchestra, and a regular guest conductor of the Toronto Symphony. Boris has also taken his talents to the United States and has been Artistic Director of the Ventura Symphony in Los Angeles.
An entrepreneur with a passion for spreading his love of classical music, Boris is the Artistic Director of the Boris Brott Summer Music Festival in Canada, which has been running for nearly three decades.
Boris’ international musical career is even more impressive. He has been Assistant Conductor to the New York Philharmonic under Leonard Bernstein; Music Director and Conductor for London’s Royal Ballet; Chief Conductor of the BBC National Symphony of Wales and Music Director of the Northern Sinfonia of England.
In 2000, he conducted Leonard Bernstein's The Mass for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican.
