Florence Eid is the Founder & CEO of Arabia Monitor, a research firm that studies the economies and financial markets of the Middle East & North Africa region. Studying macroeconomics, Florence can analyse the markets of Arabian countries. Also the President of Arabia Advisors, an affiliated investment firm. Florence's sharp knowledge of market trends makes her well placed to discuss economic and financial issues on the corporate circuit.
Florence Eid is the Founder & CEO of Arabia Monitor, a research firm focused on the Middle East & North Africa region, and President of Arabia Advisors.
Before setting up Arabia Monitor, Florence held the post of Managing Director for MENA at Passport Capital. She built and headed up their London office, where she came to from her post as Vice President & Senior Economist for the MENA region at JPMorgan, and Professor of Finance & Economics at the MBA level, at the American University of Beirut.
Florence has written for the World Economic Forum's Arab World Competitiveness Reports in 2003 and 2005, and she is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Banking Corporation International Bank in London. She has also served as a board member of SHUAA Capital and is a Trustee of the American University of Paris, a Patron of the Contemporary Arts Society in London, sat on the Advisory Board of QFINANCE – Qatar.
Florence has worked for the World Bank in Latin America and North Africa, the Ford Foundation in New York and with Save the Children in Beirut.
As a member of the Young Arab Leaders, the Young Presidents Organization and L.I.B.A.N. Florence appears regularly on CNBC Europe, CNBC Arabia, CNN, and the BBC.
She holds a Ph.D. in Organization Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has held Visiting Professorships at INSEAD and HEC - Paris.
